03-30-2007. Sun art. Nature's artful display as the sun descends over the Lakeside Mountains, sending a sunbeam across Bridger Bay, Great Salt Lake, Utah.

03-30-2007. Clouds backlit by the setting sun over Bridger Bay.

03-25-2007. Colors of the storm. Light diffused through stormy skies over the south arm of Great Salt Lake.

03-25-2007. Wasatch reflections. The view from Beacon Knob, 3 miles into the backcountry trail system on Antelope Island. East Shore Road below.

03-25-2007. Watching you, watching me. A month ago, they estimated about 200 pronghorn antelope were on the island. They always stop and watch the visitors watching them from the road.

03-25-2007. Home, home on the range, where the deer and the antelope play.

03-25-2007. A perfect spring day. About 350 visitors at the VC today, compared with 600 yesterday. Temps in the 60s. Ya gotta luv it!

03-25-2007. On the road again. Taken about 4:30 p.m. on my way to the island. Mile marker four.

03-23-2007. Golden sunset on Bridger Bay, Antelope Island, Great Salt Lake, Utah. Cool and breezy but nice!

03-19-2007. Looking down on Echo Reservoir and Interstate 80 with Rockport Reservoir in the distance.

03-19-2007. Looking south along the Wasatch Range after overflying Davis County, Utah.

03-18-2007. Brilliant horizon. Notice the frenzied activity of California Gulls nesting on Egg Island to the right.

03-18-2007. The sun is just descending out of the clouds over Lakeside Mountains. I shot this from the east shore of Bridger Bay.

03-18-2007. View of Ladyfinger Point, Egg Island, and Little Mountain from Lakeside Trail. Bridger Bay is in the foreground.

03-18-2007. Promontory view from the visitors center.

03-18-2007. Marina view from the visitors center.

03-18-2007. Causeway view. I took this shot from the visitors center after 6:00 p.m. This photo was used on the weather segment of the 10:00 pm KSL news.

03-16-2007. Heat wave. Temps hitting the high 60s this week.

03-11-2007. Liquid gold. An intense sunset broke over Egg Island tonight. Imagine the distant song of a coyote, the call of the gulls, and the soft flow of the current between the rocks.

03-11-2007. Last minutes of sun. Ladyfinger Point catches the final rays of the sun, 03-11-2007. It was quite warm on the photographer as well.

03-11-2007. Fremont Island, about 7 miles away, shines in the light of a bright evening sun. Taken from the end of Ladyfinger Point on Antelope Island.

03-11-2007. The California Gulls are back on Egg Island. It's a busy acre of rock on the Great Salt Lake.

03-11-2007. Bridger Bay view from the tip of Ladyfinger Point.

03-11-2007. Puddles on the playa from the weekend precipitation. White Rock Bay, Antelope Island.

03-11-2007. Fence line. Visitors are not allowed off-trail beyond this fence line.

03-11-2007. Water's edge at White Rock Bay. Elephant Head and White Rock in view.

03-11-2007. White Rock Bay panorama from Buffalo Point.

03-10-2007. Illumination. Minutes before sunset. Final moments of sunlight on the causeway.

03-10-2007. Lake stillness. The stillness of a night like this on Great Salt Lake is indescribable.

03-05-2007. Incandescent sky. Taken from mile marker three on the causeway to Antelope Island, Great Salt Lake, Utah. Looking across Gilbert Bay toward Lakeside Mountains.

02-28-2007. All in a day's work. They used to sheer thousands of sheep here until sheep ranching became unprofitable in the 1950s.

02-28-2007. Self-reliance. Any repairs they had to do in the early days, required ready tools and a blacksmith shop.

02-28-2007. Standing guard. Sentry Peak seems to stand alone, watching over the southern portion of Antelope Island. It's about a three-hour hike round trip from the ranch. You need a permit before you hike it.

02-28-2007. End of the line. South Island Trail leads to the old southern causeway and Unicorn Point about 3 miles away. You can ride this trail on a vintige amphibious vehicle called the Duck in the summer. You can also travel the trail by foot or horseback during open access events. The next event will be on May 4, 2007.

02-28-2007. Bison sighting. I spotted about this small herd of about 40 bison near 9-mile gate.

02-28-2007. Out on a limb. These small field birds crowd together on the tops of sparse wetland trees on Antlelope Island.

02-28-2007. Hide and seek. This roadside coyote took advantage of the limited camouflage available. Can you see me now?

02-28-2007. Winter survivor. The sunflowers on Antelope Island will come back to life over the next two months.

02-28-2007. Bull convention. These five bison seem to enjoy their space near Buffalo Point. I spotted a herd of 100 bison about 3 miles away along White Rock Loop Trail.

02-28-2007. Close encounter. Clouse encounter of the bison kind, as I drive to Buffalo Point.

02-28-2007. Winged frenzy. As I walked along Ladyfinger Point, the gulls on Egg Island suddenly burst up in a frenzy of flight.

02-28-2007. Ice fort. Could you imagine children making an ice fort with these pre-fab sheets of ice along the causeway?

02-28-2007. Frozen in time. A layer of fresher water flows above Great Salt Lake and freezes. Though the lake is beginning to thaw, several icey structures have formed throughout Farmington Bay.

02-27-2007. Noche dorada. Traffic was horrendous, compounded by the onset of flu. By the time I made the causeway, the sun had set. Still I got my fix...

02-26-2007. Desaparecido. The sun has disappeared behind a wall of storm clouds.
